Dunbar’s Number | Impact | JVAlert | Information Products | Internet Marketng | Podcast #8

Posted: March 15th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Ken McArthur, Marketing Experts, Top Marketers, Marketing Strategies, Marketing Events, Information Products, Scott Paton, Podcasting, blogging, mobile marketing | Modify: Edit This | No Comments »

Dunbar's number is a theoretical cognitive limit to the number of people with whom one can maintain stable social relationships. These are relationships in which an individual knows who each person is, and how each person relates to every other person.

Proponents assert that numbers larger than this generally require more restricted rules, laws, and enforced norms to maintain a stable, cohesive group. No precise value has been proposed for Dunbar's number, but a commonly cited approximation is 150.

You just can't create quality joint venture's with everyone. Thousands of people want you to work with them, promote their products and most of those projects you shouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

Joint venture success is all about building long-term, DEEP relationships with a core group of people, you know like and trust and who have demonstrated that they can contribute to your success.
